IEC Activities for 2022
• SOTTO Goa’s Calendar 2022 with theme ‘Nave Jivit – A New Life’ #sayyestoorgandonation was released by the members of the SOTTO Steering Committee.

• SOTTO Goa in collaboration with Goa Institute of Public Administration & Rural Development Organised an awareness session on Organ Donation for the Headmasters of Goa. Around 25 Headmaster’s of Various Schools and Higher Secondary’s attended this workshop.

• An awareness talk was held for the Teacher’s & Staff of Don Bosco High School Panaji. The Speaker for the Talk was Dr. Preeti Varghese, Joint Director SOTTO – Goa.

• Awareness Talk on Organ Donation conducted at Sai Nursing Institute Sankhali. More than 100 students and teachers attended the session.

• Awareness Talk at Industrial Training Institute Sattari at Honda was conducted for the students and staff. Where the students and faculties took part in the session and cleared their queries regarding Organ Donation & promised to take forward the message.

• An Online awareness session on organ donation was organised in collaboration with Kalji Goa (NGO).

• An awareness lecture on organ donation was conducted in collaboration with Goa Institute of Public Administration & Rural Development for the Government officials from various departments like DITC Panaji, Women & Child Development, Police Headquarters Panaji, BDO Bicholim, GSIDC LTD & Others. The participants were also handed the SOTTO Goa Calendar & awareness posters to be displayed in the respective dept offices.

• On the occasion of Women’s Day celebration organised by Rotary Club of Margao Mid Town, Dr. Preeti Varghese, Joint Director of SOTTO Goa addressed the students & Faculties of VVM’s Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law on Organ Donation.

• SOTTO Goa in collaboration with Goa Medical College & Hospital – GMC and IMA MSN Goa held a Rally to celebrate the World Kidney Day 2022 for bridging the knowledge Gap for Better Kidney Care.

• SOTTO Goa has developed a poster for awareness on Organ Donation the same posters were distributed and displayed at various Government and Private Hospitals & Health Centre across Goa. Following are some pictures of the same.

• SOTTO Goa held an awareness session on Organ Donation at ICAR-CCARI, Goa. Joint Director, SOTTO Goa, Dr.Preeti Varghese during the talk stressed on Importance of Organ Donation and informed that one person can save 8 lives by organ donation.

• Organ Donation Awareness session was organised at Nirmala Institute of Education. More than 150 Students Along with their Faculty attended the session.

• During Awareness Session at Institute of Nursing education, 200 Nursing Students, Prof. cum Principal Dr. Wilson along with faculty took a pledge to say YES TO ORGAN DONATION. During the talk Dr.Preeti Varghese, Joint Director, SOTTO Goa explained to students their role as nursing professionals as a caregiver, transplant Coordinators, etc. As nurses have a dual role in society as people finds nurses more approachable, they can help people take a right decision to give consent for a request for organ donation.

• Organ Donation Awareness talks at Vedanta Pvt Ltd was organised in three session two physical session and one online for different offices being Head Office Panjim, Amona VAB Plant & at Codli Mines.

• An Awareness talk was organised in collaboration with Rotary Club Margao at Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce Quepem.

• Awareness session on organ donation was held at the Secretariat of Goa at Porvorim for the staff in coordination with the Goa Administrative Department.

• Organ Donation Awareness talk was organised at Goa dental College in two sessions where all the 4 batch students alongwith their faculty attended the session.

• To Promote Organ Pledging through Driving License a special posters showcasing an option for Organ Pledging were designed and distributed to all RTO offices in Goa by SOTTO Goa.

• Held an Organ Donation Awareness Campaign at Homeopathy College, Shiroda for the students & Faculty on Organ Donation in collaboration with Rotaract Ponda.

• SOTTO Goa celebrated World Organ Donation Day on 13th August 2022 at Goa Medical College in the presence of Shri. Jaspal Singh, IPS, DGP of Goa, Dr. Geeta Kakodkar, Director DHS, Dr. Rufino Monteiro, State IMA President, Prof. Dr. S.M. Bandekar, Dean, MS, Goa Medical College & Dr. Preeti Varghese, Joint Director Technical In charge.

• Awareness Session on Organ Donation was conducted for Nurses (Ward In charges) of Goa Medical College by Dr. Preeti Varghese Joint Director SOTTO Goa.

• Healthway hospital being a registered transplant hospital celebrated World Organ Donation Day. The Chief for the function was Dr. Preeti Varghese Joint Director; SOTTO Goa reiterated Organ Donation & importance of Organ Pledging.

• On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day IMA Goa organized a CME on various topics pertaining to Organ Transplant & Organ Donation. During this CME, Dr. Preeti Varghese, Joint Director SOTTO Goa gave a presentation on Organ Donation & Transplantation. Around 60 doctors were present for this CME.

• SOTTO Goa conducted an awareness session on Organ Donation at Horizon Hospital Margao. At this programme Dr. Preeti Varghese Joint Director SOTTO Goa in her address stressed on the importance of Organ Donation and the need to develop more Transplant Centers & NTORCs in the state. The session was attended by the management, Doctors, Nurses & Staff of the hospital.

• An awareness session on Organ Donation was organized in association with Health & Counseling Centre of Dhempe college of Arts & Science, Miramar. College Students, Faculty along with their principal attended the session.
• Dr. Preeti Varghese, Joint Director SOTTO Goa delivered a lecture on Organ Donation & Transplantation to the Matron’s, Assistant Matron and Ward In charges of Goa Medical College.
• SOTTO Goa conducted an awareness session on Organ Donation at Horizon Hospital Margao. Dr. Preeti Varghese Joint Director SOTTO Goa in her address stressed on the importance of Organ Donation and the need to develop more Transplant Centers & NTORCs that are necessary for the success of the Deceased Donor Organ Transplant Programme in the state. The session was attended by the management, Doctors, Nurses & Staff of the hospital.
• Organ Donation awareness session was conducted by Sotto Goa in collaboration with Jain Engineer’s Society Goa Chapter & Caring Souls at Ponda. In this session concept like Organ Pledging, Brain Stem Death, and how one person can save 8 lives through Organ Donation & help 75 others through tissue donation was explained in detail.
• Organ Donation Awareness Talk was conducted for the staff of Establishment 1 section of Goa Medical College.
