Organ Donation Awareness Activities for 2026
1. On the occasion of National Youth Day, SOTTO Goa in collaboration with PHC Chinchinim conducted an Organ Donation Awareness Session at Mount Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Chinchinim. Nearly 100 students and faculty members were present and actively engaged throughout the session. The interaction aimed to inspire young minds to ignite compassion within themselves and understand how a single decision can impact multiple lives through organ donation.
2. SOTTO Goa conducted an Organ Donation Awareness Talk at the Civil Aviation Department, Government of Goa. During the session, Ms. Shraddha Kelkar, Consultant IEC, SOTTO Goa, addressed common misconceptions and emphasized how a single decision of organ donation can save multiple lives. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the staff, who actively engaged in discussions and openly shared their questions and concerns related to organ donation.
3. SOTTO Goa conducted an awareness session on organ donation for the staff of Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC) during the Annual training programme for South Goa held at Government College Arts, Science and Commerce Quepem. Pratiksha Naik, Transplant Coordinator of SOTTO Goa, delivered a motivational talk enlightening over 180 security personnel and officials about the importance of organ donation.
4. An Organ Donation awareness talk was conducted by SOTTO Goa for the staff of Department of River Navigation at Marine Workshop, Betim. Ms. Pratiksha Naik, Transplant Coordinator spoke about the importance of organ donation and addressed common myths surrounding this noble cause. Around 80 staff members attended the session.
5. SOTTO Goa Medical College organized an impactful awareness session on organ donation for Tourism Department officials at Panaji, Goa. Ms. Shraddha Kelkar, Consultant IEC of SOTTO Goa delivered an inspirational talk enlightening around 35 officials about importance of Organ Donation.
6. SOTTO Goa conducted an interactive session on Organ donation for the staff of Mamlatdar office Ponda. Ms. Shraddha Kelkar, Consultant IEC of SOTTO Goa delivered a motivational talk inspiring over 20 officials to support the noble cause of organ donation.
7. SOTTO Goa Medical College conducted an Organ Donation Awareness Session for the students of Ponda Education Society, Ravi S. Naik ‘s College of Arts & Science, at Ponda – Goa. Ms. Pratiksha Naik. Transplant Coordinator of SOTTO Goa delivered an inspiring lecture, encouraging students to support the noble cause of organ donation. Around 80 students along with the faculty members were present for the session.
8. SOTTO Goa Medical College conducted an organ donation awareness session for staff of Kadamba Transport Corporation Ltd at Porvorim, Goa. Ms. Shraddha Kelkar, Consultant IEC, and Ms. Pratiksha Naik, Transplant Coordinator, SOTTO Goa addressed around 60 officials on the importance of organ donation & Transplantation.
9. SOTTO Goa successfully organized a Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) Programme on “Organ Donation & Transplant – Role of Nurses”, at South Goa District Hospital. The CNE was attended by 150 Nurses from all across Goa. The scientific programme covered crucial topics such as Kidney Disease in Pediatric Population, Brain Death Certification, Transplant Scenario and Law (THOA 1994), Living Donor Kidney Transplant, and Deceased Donor Kidney Transplant. It also focused on essential aspects of patient care like Immediate Post-Transplant Nursing Care & Post-Transplant Complications and Prevention of Complications. The CNE highlighted the importance of ethical practices and timely intervention in ensuring successful transplant outcomes and quality patient care.
10. In support of SOTTO Goa, Goa Medical College & Hospital organized the GMCH Champions League on Sunday, 29th March 2026 with the theme “We Support Organ Donation” and the message #SayYesToOrganDonation. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from 12 teams across various departments of GMC. The event was inaugurated by the Hon. Health Minister of Goa, Shri Vishwajit P. Rane, in the presence of the Dean, Goa Medical College, Dr. J. P. Tiwari and the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Rajesh Patil. SOTTO Goa collaborated with the tournament to enhance visibility and create awareness about organ donation. Many people during the event came forward and expressed their support for organ donation.
