It gives me immense joy to know SOTTO (State Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization), an initiative of the Government of Goa, is being set-up. The formation of SOTTO a State-level body constituted for the purpose of regulating transplant Programme involving various processes like organ removal, storage and transplantation in keeping with THOA (Transplantation of Human Organs Act) 1994, will help to streamline the process of organ donation, bringing about transparency and professional approach to it. To facilitate this SOTTO has come up with a web portal.
Organ donation is a wonderful gesture by the noble hearted. It helps give life to another person and is a selfless act on the part of the donor.
I take this opportunity to wish the medical fraternity as well as other professionals who will be working closely with SOTTO and hope this initiative benefits the community at large.
